GENERATOR/Y&R TAKES OUT NAB NEWSPAPER AD OF THE YEAR PRIZE

An ad Honda V6 Accord, created by Generator (since folded into Y&R) has won the NAB Newspaper Ad of the Year award 05/06. The prize was announced at a function held in Auckland on Thursday night. The judges cast their votes earlier in the day, and then personality/journalist James McOnie declared the winning ad to advertising creatives and newspaper industry representatives.
Steve McCabe and Tony Bradbourne were the winning creative team responsible for the Honda campaign and win tickets to the Caxton Awards being held in Queenstown in September. Honda will also receive free advertising space in selected newspapers and the winning ad will be entered into an international award show.
The next Newspaper Ad of the Year competition promises to be even bigger and better, with a $10,000 cash prize for the winning creative team. Starting in June, all newspaper ads will be eligible to win.
