Integrated communications agency WRC, part of the DDB Group, today announced the appointment of new Managing Director, David Thomason.
Thomason, known as “DT” to both clients and staff, has been with the DDB Group for two years, providing strategy planning for both DDB and WRC clients.
DDB Group Managing Director Sharon Henderson says: “The WRC Managing Director’s role requires a unique set of skills and David is head and shoulders above anyone else, particularly as the architect of WRC’s strategic trademark ‘the involving idea’. I am truly excited about his appointment and what it means for the Group and for WRC itself.”
Thomason says he is delighted to take on the Managing Director’s role. “WRC has experienced spectacular growth and developed significant momentum in terms of defining and delivering involving ideas for its clients,” he says.
“What WRC does is unique – we turn traditional approaches to marketing communications on their head and focus on how we can involve consumers more fully with a brand, rather than look at communication channels per se. What’s more, we have positioned the agency entirely around this central philosophy of consumer involvement, rather than treating it like some sort of optional extra.”
Thomason has 20 years experience in the advertising and communications industry, in roles from art director to creative director and strategic planning director. Prior to joining DDB Group in June 2004, Thomason had worked at Grey, Adworks, Lintas and Park Avenue.

Well that should read the MD of "W" as read in NBR - the "RC" is being taken by a new agency - with no staff - doing direct marketing.

WRC stands (or stood) for WOW Rapp Collins.

Now it stands for ...WRC.

And a new agency called Rapp Collins is being conjured up to fill the DM space.

I was given a pay rise once here at DDB. It was not money, but what I was told was a magic egg. I went home and planted that egg. I water it and talk to it everyday. Nothing has come of it as yet. Anyone got any advice?
