From the Campaign Brief blog:
It's that time of the year when Campaign Brief gets submissions for Agency of the Year - for both Australia and New Zealand. Any thoughts on which shop deserves the title in New Zealand?

I vote Catmur Catmur Catmur Catmur and Catmur. Lovely agency, and very egalitarian.

handsome too.
3:50 pm NZDT
Catmur that is. Not the agency.

I thought we were voting on an agency not a person. My vote goes to Clems in Welly.

Three things. Firstly it is highly debatable whether Paul Catmur is handsome. Secondly, I am reluctant to vote for DDB because Paul Catmur wouldn't offer me job even thougn I came close to begging him for one. Thirdly, despite all this I vote for DDB. The Darth Tater ad pushes them over the line in my humble out of work mid-weight writer's opinion.

Paul is not handsome. By any standards.
I suspect the anynomous writer is himself. Although he claims he does not read this blog, but who would admit to it?

To Anonymous out of work mid-weight writer, are you looking for work in AKL or WGN? Freelance or contract? DM, Brand, Retail, all or none of the above? We might have something for you - no, really.

I would like to vote for Saatchi & Saatchi due to their outstanding work on Export Gold.
It really does break new ground in such a creative way. It just makes me want to party all night drinking Export Gold in a refreshing youthful way.
I think it may even motivate me to come out this Christmas and confront my homosexuality once and for all.
Who needs that repressed Speights rubbish when I can now give it up for Gold.
Love ya Tobster

Bloody hell Mr Codpiece, you're bitter.
My vote goes to Saatchis. They kept TVNZ for one, put on stacks of new business, and kept Basil and Damon.
12:08 pm NZDT
And they employed Ben Pegler. That shows real commitment.
Diiiiiiice!

To anon who wrote "To Anonymous out of work mid-weight writer", I am looking for work in MEL ATM but thanks for asking.
12:51 pm NZDT
Hello mid-weight writer, thanks for getting back to me - hope all goes well in your search... sure could use you here (sigh!). Am still looking for a decent DM writer - maybe Santa will deliver us one via his global DM drop Xmas Eve.
3:28 pm NZDT
I can recommend Ben Pegler.
5:56 pm NZDT
Who's Ben Pegler?
5:34 pm NZDT
He'll probably be your boss in five years.
9:02 am NZDT
But I have no aspirations to work at KFC
10:22 am NZDT
These anonymouses (anonymice?) are getting really confusing. I'm the one who's seriously looking for a DM writer, and I don't know where Ben Pegler is. Anonymous who recommended him, do you know?
11:13 am NZDT
Anonymous above - how about posting your job vacancy to the main page of the blog and leaving either a phone number or an email address.
Neil
11:17 am NZDT
Thanks Neil. And ha-ha, I see from previous postings that Ben's at S&S - a sign of real commitment on their part apparently.
11:41 am NZDT
Oh, and Neil PS: I totally agree with your opinion of the CB blog.
11:45 am NZDT
I don't see the job vacancy posting yet.
12:33 pm NZDT
Wasn't this supposed to be about agency of the year?
3:12 pm NZDT
I vote for Ben Pegler as agency of the year.
8:24 pm NZDT
My friend tracks possums. No, really.
4:52 pm NZDT
But at least he's got a nice drop of wine to sip while he waits for the possums to appear
1:02 pm NZDT
Possum tracks, bear tracks...they're all the same to me.
