Header: Lets get a few things sorted.

Long time reader
First time blogger

Dear Mr Anonymous.
Firstly, the CoastGuard print ads were signed of by the CEO of the New
Zealand Coastguard. Making it a legitimate campaign not a scam, as a certain
finger pointer out there would like everyone to think.

Secondly, this campaign was developed into its current form as a team. If
you have any questions you can contact Nick Worthington, Janelle Shearer,
Andrea Price, Derrick Kim or myself directly. (915 6656).

Everyone worked really hard to get this campaign off the ground and
produced. If you don't like it as an ad, fine that's up to you. Give your
opinion and a reason why you think it's bad but please don't try and destroy
it for a bit of fun.

I haven't bothered to comment before, as everyone involved knew the truth. I
have been prompted to comment after reading how nasty this whole site has
become. It's turned from a site of people talking about ads to personal
assassinations.

I know this site will remain Anonymous, I myself will always use my name.

Karl Fleet
(the actual Karl Fleet even though I have read many posts which have used my
name.)

I've got some of those plastic twisty things you tie the fruit bags with at Foodtown. Can you please write me a scam ad for them, I think something to do with handcuffs and Amnesty International is a good starter.

As for the CoastGuard, sure, it's clean and legit.

But what about the four page wave ad?

Can you please tell me if the client paid for all the media, the retouching, the photography and the concept fee?

I doubt it.

Everyone realises that Mojo doesn't play on a level playing field.

It's not a business. It's a charity. Case closed.

Karl Fleet may be many things, but a dirty ginga he is not. Just thought I'd point that out.

You need to lighten up. Take away the bitching, the nastiness and the personal assassinations and what are you left with? Earnest adfucks propagating their own agendas and egos, and having a wee cry like you've just done. The only fun left in this godforsaken business is to not take it so seriously. And I can't give you my name because you might fire me!

Nah...personal assassinations are more fun!

and that, Darryl, is why you're one of the best in the biz. You get it. Good on ya.

Who gives a shit about the rest of the moaners anyhow. Let 'em wallow in their own insecurities and lack of ideas and, as per, those who can ignore the tall poppy bashers, get on and do better than the rest. Full credit to the agencies that aren't just full of their own self importance and actually look to the bigger picture.

'agencies that aren't just full of their own self importance'

Name one...

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hahaha anon genius I don't know one agency that isn't "Full of their own self importance"

The whole reason they do charity work is to win awards for some scam idea they had. So the Agency can get some "Self Importance"

You say scam ad.
I say clever work that the client and public appreciate.
You call it a scam is that because:
It didn't work? - No
It didn't run? - No
Or just because you didn't think of it? - hmmm yeah.

Sure the agency may get some kudos for doing it but at least they are doing it and not bitching about it on a blog.
All you moaners and haters suck.

On Ya Fleet.
On Ya Parsons.

Long live the idea.
Was that really Kevin Roberts?

Did it work? I suppose that depends on how many boaties saw it. Maybe heaps maybe one I don't know. Paying for charity stuff yourself is fair enough, its kind of like giving to charity. Call it a scam when it only runs once.
I liked the idea though.

Charities are different. Every idiot knows that. Who wants to charge a charity money and sleep at night.

Different kettle of fish when it's a client that should pay but doesn't.

There's a thriving charity parasite industry that doesn't have any qualms about ripping it in to them. Banks, lawyers, accountants. There's some frightening stats about how much charitable donations have sucked out of them before it gets to those that deserve it. Makes ad agency's look like saints.

I don't know which Mojo employee was masquerading as the CEO of Coastguard when you had these 'signed off' but then perhaps it never really happened? Granted; charities need all the help they can get but you haven't even put any thought into what you are trying to communicate. The said ads direct you to the Coastguard New Zealand website to "check the weather forecast". Correct me if I'm wrong, Karl, but www.nzcoastguard.org.nz doesn't even have a weather forecast feature or page - just a link to the Met Service page and this link is difficult to find in itself. Clever, but not very smart

Anonymous Anonymous said...

does the link give you the weather forcast?
Yes.
I think your are streaching mr Anonymous.
It is getting really really boring mate. Let it go, let it go.

Is this you again Catmur?

I had a look.
it's really hard to find, not!!! click on Marine Forecasts in red
on the main page.
Make me head of CSI i say.

Also the half page story on the weather on the main page with click through also helped.

New Weather Channel for West Coast

Weather Channel 22 is now available for the Kawhia/Raglan area north to the Manukau Heads. This station will provide continuous weather and tidal information, Nowcasting service, and relevant area messages.

Righto, Karl and your piece of shit CSI detective friend. If you were to check your facts you will find that the site you are referring to with weather etc. is the Coastguard Northern Region website, which is at www.coastguard.org.nz. And a very nice site it is. But if you go to the site described in the piece of shit scam ads, you'll find yourself at www.nzcoastguard.org.nz - the New Zealand Coastguard site. Check it out, there's fuck-all mention about weather there. So I do apologise for the mistake I made in my last post - you are neither smart, nor clever.

got to agree with previous poster - I can't see any info. Also, maybe the clients money would have been better spent making this site not look so crap.

Yes Karl, a link (which is difficult to find) which takes you to the Met Service page, sackrash. Not clever, not smart, and still a scam-artist

At www.nzcoastguard.org.nz if you click on 'Safety Tips' you go through to a list of tips.

One of them is to 'Check the weather' but it comes up with a bung page 'Oject not found!' Someone should tell them.

I'll head out in my tinnie anyway...

Christ!!!

Talk about petty...

I'll admit that I originally thought there were some grey areas surrounding this whole thing but after reading all this bullshit I'm so fuckin' over it that I really don't give a toss.

I agree with Karl, if you're so bitter about it, give him a call and discuss it like grown humans.

I agree nzcc, like most people I've had a go here, but purely for sport. But I do agree, nice to front up to the shit Karl.

10:36 am NZDT

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree also. It was nice of him to front up with a fictitious story about a fictitious ad

12:21 pm NZDT

I reckon Karl, of the "why don't you front up with your name" fame has flicked a few anonymous ones in to augment his own nefarious machinations.
