I'm not biased but the move to Dunedin campaign is pretty damn sharp.

What about that 'I'll eat my hat' stripper guy for door paint stripper on TV.

3:13 pm NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

For some reason I really trust him. Maybe it's the hat? There's a slight nagging doubt though - he is pretty chunky which could suggest he's ingested a number of hats.

It'll be something with Colenso, Saatchi or DDB wriiten in the keyline.

How about the cyber-penguin (rendered by a 3 year old retard) that sings about "the warmest feet in the world" and winks a lot. "Oh yeah"

Eating media lunch... 'film in a bowl'.

Catmur was moved by it. A real consumer insight.

4:46 pm NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'd have to admit, the bowl really moved me and I was left wanting more. A second helping if you will. Fourth even. I hear they're going to turn it into a movie.

Film in a bowl. You could have a campaign. Film on a dinner plate. And film in a pan.

the totalspan camapign with the robotic dog and two fat people singing will take gold, maybe not grand axis though. 'who can? totalspan'

Versatile garages will be pushing Totalspan pretty hard. Hope Thor God of Thunder doesn't get too bitched at Axis and have a go at Totalspan Dog! Still, if he can't break into a garage he'll be boned trying to smash a cyber-pup.

Catch your bus Thor, catch it real good.

We're forgetting the Farmer's Red Dot Sale. totalspan, Hills Flooring, they don't stand a chance against that genius use of bigger than before red dot. It took out the Effies. And it'll take out the big one at Axis. I'll bet Neil Livingstone's Whitehouse quim soaked moustache on it. (There's a nasty image for you.)

8:35 pm NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, could be. haven't seen much else on the same level this year.

8:38 am NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Landmines, the ball, coastguard tvc, 42's hero ad, mini street maps, undies/togs and nothing from saatchi.

8:56 am NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Coastguard TVC. That's shithouse. The only way that'll get something is if Worthington uses his muscle on the jury to force it through. Anyone remember Grand Axis TV going to Grainwaves last year. What the fuck? I expected a lot to come from Saatchis this year. Haven't seen much good out of colenso outside of that Playboy stuff and the Trumpet stuff so Colenso might take a backseat this year.

9:33 am NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Trumpet must have a chance. Hard category, and more original than RAV 4 (very popular, but just another slapstick execution), Delisio is elegant and really different for a packet of crisps. I reckon Telecom crap movies should get something for moving the category forward. There'll be tonnes of Saatchi one offs that get silver, bronze etc. DDB will be the big disappointment, except for Darth Tater, but they can't rely on the old faves of Sky or VW to help - nothing good for at least a year. I mean, they even did that Durex campaign that nobody gets. NZ Girl might get a mention but I can't wait for the boo if it picks up metal.

Funny, the two most popular TVCs, Trumpet and Rav 4, were done by the Aussie/US imports. Remember how everybody was bitching about the big agencies hiring overseas?

11:53 am NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

St John s Ambulance. No. Thank YOU.

3:05 pm NZST

Anonymous Anonymous said...

11:53am - I think you might be right on that. I just assumed DDB would have heaps of good shit but thinking about it more now, yeah, they haven't done too much. That pineapple lumps ad might be something and that Freedom radio ad has got to get something too. Yeah, I expect Saatchis to do a hell of a lot better this year than last year. Might to interesting to see if the mid-sized agencies pickup anything or if they get whitewashed like last year. Whybins has some nice stuff, M&C for Vespa, random odds and ends from FCB, MTC and Y&R as well. Even Grey has that trucking magazine thing that should pick up a bronze in the outdoor billboard single. Thoughts?
