First work from Robber's Dog

The new Kiwibank spot, well written and far too good for Kiwibank actually. May just work. Which would be a shame.

Yeah I think it is funny. Won't win awards but it is nice enough.

I think its good in a strategic sort of way.

The problem is that, culturally, there seems to be a lot of ads out there who have the same tone of voice as the KB ad.

I call it the Little Brother T-Shirt Nostalgic/ironic tactic.

Also, it reminds me of the Fru-Ju summer TV ad for some reason.

Actually, the ad Fru Ju called to my mind was the great British Tango spot of the mid 90s. The one where a blobby marketing director ends up on the cliffs of Dover in a boxing ring, surrounded by a cast of thousands, challenging the world to a fight. Harrier jump jets rise to support him. Utter genius.

Fru Ju isn't the same idea but the tone is similar.

Just out of interest, why too good for kiwibank?
I actually think they're a-okay.
A few genuine branches wouldn't hurt though I guess.

Just a political/philosophical problem with the Kiwibank concept. Also hate lime green. Except on Charlene. She makes it work.
