MOORE REPLACES SCOTT-WILSON AS LOWE CD

Josh Moore (above), who has been Head of Art at Lowe for the past nine months, has been appointed creative director, replacing Sion Scott-Wilson (below), who has left to "finish writing a book and pursue other business interests".
Moore is ranked 6th in the current Creative Rankings League Table for Australasia published by Campaign Brief and is a founding member of the innovative CAANZ group ‘The Kitchen Table’.
Says Lowe CEO, Stephen Pearson: "We have made a number of major key hires in the past 12 months. These include Jenny Stiles as Head of Planning, Cameron Harland as Lowe GM, and Jackie Clark as Head of TV production. Hiring Josh Moore as Head of Art along with his creative partner James Hurman has also been a key part of this overall Lowe re-invention. Putting a brilliant young leader in charge of the creative department is a sign of confidence in his talent and our desire to have Lowe creatively prominent in the market.
"Sion Scott-Wilson, who has been creative director for the past 18 months, has done good work in leading the Lowe creative product. He has decided to make a change so he can finish writing a book and pursue other business interests. We wish him well in making that shift.”

The thing that worries me is James is working with the new cd (who semas like he has proven himself) and he has been a creative for 6mnths.

god, what next?

I might hire my cleaner next to come up with ideas in the agency.

Nothing personal against Josh but it's an industry wide comment - when will CEO's realize that hiring a "proven creative talent" doesn't mean they will be a good creative director. And I emphasise the word Director.

A CD should be a leader, mentor, visionary, someone who's able to lift teams/individuals rather than someone who's just out for themselves.

To use a sporting analogy - Buck Shelford was a great player but it didn't make him a great coach.

Does such a CD exist in NZ?

why does it worry you?

josh wants to work with him, and that's cool isn't it?

I'm sure he wouldn't have chosen to if he wasn't capable..

Don't worry mr anonymous, all will be fine..

So what's up with Lowe? How many Creative Directors in the past 5 years? Is it more CD's than creative awards won in the same amount of time? So what's up? Is it the creative department or the management? Discuss...

sion may have a lot of awards but he's been at Lowe for a couple of years and they've done jackshit decent work. Hard to know who's responsible for that and given Lowe's track record and management it seems like a tough place to do decent work. But if you're CD your cock is on the block and he hasn't delivered.

What did he win the Bafta for?

Josh was Head of Art.

Seen anything that looks good from Lowe recently?

Seymour Pope should've been given the job. It's not about who shouts the loudest, it's who can consistently do the best work.

Leighton,

It is quite easy to mouth off and throw your weight around, but honestly does anyone really take you seriously.

How long have you actually been working in this industry? How many award winning- big brand ads do you have on your reel????? Not charities, real ads

You need to be respected before you constantly mouth off and throw your phone number down on the blog.

Respect is something you earn.

So Leighton- a word of advice. Stop trying to be an eminem, white boy gangsta, it’s just quite pathetic.

Oh, bit you are a pom…….

One word- CHAV.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?

I said leave seymour alone and be happy for josh.. that has nothing to do with awards or how long someone has been in the industry. Or nothing to do with gangster ism. It has to do with manners and respect. Something i probably learnt in England, you rude cunt.

love Leighton again.
Mouth off? I just respect my friends and i'm not afraid of you, whoever you are.

I mean who honestly cares what Seymour has or has done recently - remember "creatives" are just doing stuff that nobody wants to see, read or hear. If you lot were really creative, you'd stop being salespeople (because that's what you are essentially) and do something creative for yourself. i.e - write a book, filmscript, paint etc.

Dear J P MOORE or 7.16pm or who ever.

My comments are not directed at you, they are a simple explanation of how Lowe has been run for the last 7yr or so years. And in my eyes is how it will continue to be run.

Now I spose the challenge is now with the new CD. The chance to stay with Lowe long enough to deliver great creative product, grow client base and win some awards.

May the force be with the new CD. I hope he can succeed the game keepers and prove myself wrong.

You're right. The best advertising is totally uncreative. Apple, Adidas, Guinness, Stella, Sony Bravia, Carlton Draught come to mind.

Twat. Go back to your hole.
