AN INCONVENIENT SPOOF FOR ECO STORE

Whybin\TBWA has developed an Eco Store tie in with Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth movie, which opens this week in Auckland.
One of their Eco Store campaigns is: 'Because Moving Planets is such a
hassle'.
First up is a spoof real estate company Mars Realty run by a Martian
called Zippin Nebula and also Buzz Aldrin.
Says Whybin\TBWA creative director, Andy Blood: "We posted it on trade me yesterday and it got pulled after 1500 visits. Apparently we have to be in possession of what we're selling. Next up: eBay."

Creatives: Bob Kerrigan, Scott Kelly, Jessica Neale and Amy Thexton.
Client: Malcolm Rands at Ecostore.

I understand the title case being deliberate, but is that typo on the first line of copy deliberate too?

I think the copy could have been a lot better. And the art direction. Oh, and the idea.

Well I like it. It made me smile.

It takes the true but trite old point about 'Look after the planet, it's the only one we've got.' and presents it in a fresh new way.

Which is what good advertising does.

A pastiche of a real estate flyer is hardly 'fresh', dude.

rubbish.

But I wouldn't mind living on mars. I'd be the #1 creative in the campaign brief Mars rankings.

"Hmm, that's funny CL, I always thought good advertising sold shit."

That's what pretty-much all advertising does anonymous. Good advertising adds a little more.

I think this qualifies. Others don't.
